Already existing

An unlimited service which goes from door to door and acts upon demand does only exist in form of cab and the own car. However, this is rather expensive and excludes the majority of the population. It’s a really new way of thinking to offer this service at a flat rate of only 48.00 euros

All of the present ideas are niche markets which mostly arose to achieve savings regarding other systems or to save money as consumer.

Grouped cabs, hail & ride, share taxis

…are to be seen as additions to the public local transport. There are hundreds of these “exceptional transport systems” as taxicabs, hailed shared taxi, bus on call and so on. They are all added to the systems which are already existing and not able to bring more people to the public or commercial passenger transport.

Ride sharing/ agencies for arranged lifts

…are not of commercial nature but arose from the wish to save money. This is especially used by people driving the same routes regularly e.g. colleagues. This system is mostly about longer distances and doesn’t have much in common with ad hoc service within the city.

Car sharing types

…correspond better to the character of owner communities or car rental services. This means a good proposal for self-drivers to use the idle capacities in the own car and to share costs with other people. Car Sharing doesn’t compete with TAXMOBIL because of access barriers, handling time and the fact that it’s getting more expansive again if it’s used excessively. It’s rather a good addition to it.
Result: none of these systems is working independently and not at all continuously. Neither are they covering large areas or regions but are only completing other systems. They are not able to offer a constant proposal to the population and reach only small parts of the people.
TAXMOBIL is a mobility offer which works completely independent and which could survive without problems and without being connected to the public local transport.
